As the offseason moves along and as summer camp is coming up for this Ohio State football team, let’s take a look at who could make this version of the Big Ten’s preseason team.

With a season of uncertainty ahead of us, the Ohio State football team still has a ton to play for in 2020. This Buckeye football team is as talented as any team in the country and if the season goes on with an alternate schedule, Ohio State may be the last team standing come January.

The Pac 12 players made an announcement via the Players Tribune that they could possibly boycott the upcoming campaign. 2020 is sure to be a season like we have never seen before. But for a moment, lets put aside the worries and focus on what can still be a fun Big Ten season.

With no official Big Ten football team with no media day polls this year, here are my predictions for the Big Ten’s preseason football team.

Defense

Defensive Linemen:

George Karlaftis, Purdue

Karlaftis was Purdue’s best defensive player last season as a true freshman with 54 tackles and 7.5 sacks.  He also had two forced fumbles and should be an early candidate for the Big Ten’s best top defensive lineman for the 2020 season.

Zach Harrison, Ohio State

Harrison is probably the most talented defensive lineman in the Big Ten with excellent physical tools that not manny can match. With Chase Young on to the NFL, Harrison is the next man up for Larry Johnson’s defensive line to help create havoc in the backfield.

Kwity Paye, Michigan

Paye is probably Michigan’s best defensive lineman and is a force as an edge rusher. With 6.5 sacks last season, Paye looks to improve upon that number as he tries to help his NFL Draft status for 2021.

Shaka Toney, Penn State

Penn State is going to need Toney to play at a high level if it wants to play for a Big Ten championship next season. With 6.5 sacks and 40 total tackles last season for the Nittany Lions, Toney looks to make a jump in his fourth season in Happy Valley.
