With the departure of Chase Young, Ohio State has huge shoes to fill on the defensive line, however, there are several Buckeyes who should step up and become difference makers.

Anytime an all-time great player leaves a program there is going to be a big hole to fill. For Ohio State, the loss of Chase Young is going to be a hard pill to swallow.

Luckily, the Buckeyes recruit at such a high level, there are always top-rated players ready to step up and fill in.

Ohio State’s defensive line will need that especially his year as they try to replicate what Chase Young was able to do. Chances are that it will need to be a committee approach rather than one person being able to replace Chase one for one.

Last season Young accounted for 16.5 sacks which was almost triple what the next closest player had. That phenomenal number was over 30% of the total amount of sacks recorded by Ohio State.

So, the Buckeyes need to have players step up to account for at least that amount of sacks if Ohio State wants to have just as dominate a defensive line in 2020. Here are the top players to take that next step and become difference makers on defense.
