Ohio State football: Buckeyes land CB Jordan Hancock

Ohio State was the heavy favorite for the cornerback after he de-committed from Clemson, and now they land him.

Ohio State’s recruiting class has been really good for the class of 2021. As you all know by now, it is the number one rated class by all of the recruiting services. The one problem they had with the class was adding numbers in the secondary. That changed in a big way today.

Jordan Hancock, the number 5 cornerback in the country and 41st player overall in the country for the class of 2021, has chosen to play for the Buckeyes. Hancock joins Jakailin Jackson as the only other true cornerback in the class. The Buckeyes now have five total commitments in the secondary.

Adding Hancock is huge for the Buckeyes. Kerry Coombs has already done a masterful job of recruiting since rejoining Ohio State after a brief stint in the NFL. Coombs has a pedigree of grooming players to be great players at the next level.

That pedigree and history of success is no doubt why Hancock decided to join the Scarlet and Gray after leaving Clemson. He can learn from some of the best coaches in the country and play with some of the best teammates in the country in pursuit of a national championship.

Hancock announced his commitment via Twitter.

Hancock has some excellent instincts already and puts himself in a great position to make plays on the ball. He just needs some coaching to take that next step to be a truly elite player. He has the potential to be an early first-round pick after his time in Columbus is done.

This is another great victory for the recruiting class of 2021. Ryan Day is putting together one heck of a class.
