@ Michigan State
This is another game that needs to be included to make sure that the East gets in all of their games.
A short bus ride away is also appealing for these two schools to play big-time programs while keeping their players safe.
Michigan State has fallen a little of late, but both of these schools have passionate fan bases that should also help TV ratings.
@ Penn State
On paper, this is the most challenging game for Ohio State this year. Even though there is doubt about if the white-out will even be able to happen, Penn State is the second-best team in the conference.
These schools have had the closest games over the last few years, and both schools are looking forward to another meeting.
This game, even though it happens later in the year would be a can’t-change date for both teams.
Moving some of the games before and/or after may be a possibility but the chance to continue this semi-rivalry is really important.
Iowa
The lone crossover from the West visiting Ohio State in this schedule, the Buckeyes gets a chance to redeem themselves after an embarrassing loss the last time these two teams played.
Rutgers
This is the least important of all the East division games based on past team results. Rutgers is not expected to be competitive this year, so pushing this later will help with flexibility in case all games are not able to be played.
