Ohio State Recruiting: Buckeye commits move up in latest rankings
The 2021 Ohio State recruiting class is loaded with outstanding players and some are moving up in the rankings in a big way.
Ryan Day’s 2021 Ohio State recruiting class is currently ranked No. 1 and on pace to be one of the best ever. A couple of coach Day’s commits are moving up in the rankings.
In the latest Top247 rankings TreVeyon Henderson moved up to the No. 10 player in the country and wide receiver Jayden Ballard climbed to No. 45. I want to credit Barton Simmons of 247Sports for pointing out the upgrades on the two Buckeye commits.
There are plenty of players in the 2021 Ohio State recruiting class listed in the Top247. Let’s begin with two others ranked in the top 10.
- SDE Jack Sawyer Pickerington, Ohio (5)
- OG Donovan Jackson, Bellairre, TX (6)
Here are recruits not mentioned above who made the cut.
- ILB Reid Carrico Ironton, OH (48)
- PRO QB Kyle McCord Philadelphia, PA (52)
- DT Mike Hall Streetsboro, OH (57)
- CB Jakallin Johnson St. Louis, Mo (65)
- SDE Tunmise Adeleye Bradenton, FL (82)
- APB Evan Pryor Cornelius, NC (96)
- S Jantzen Dunn Bowling Green, KY (141)
- S Andre Turrintine Nashville, TN (175)
- WR Marvin Harrison Jr. Philadelphia, PA (186)
- ATH Denzel Burke Scottsdale, AZ (204)
- OG Ben Christman Richfield, Oh (208)
Just think, 15 of the 19 commits in the Ohio State recruiting class are ranked in the recent Top247.
But I also have to mention the other recruits in the class who weren’t ranked in the Top247. They were players coach Day targeted early on so he and his staff see potential in them others may not.
- S Jaylen Johnson Cincinnati, OH
- TE Sam Hart Aurora, CO
- CB Devonta Smith Cincinnati, OH
- Jesse Mirco Australia
It’s easy to see with the many players ranked so high why the 2021 Ohio State recruiting class is at the top of the heap so far and on pace to be one of the best ever.
