Ohio State recruiting: 5-star prospect invited to Elite 11 Finals

Ohio State recruiting prospects for the class of 2021 are some of the best prospects in the sport. One got an invite for the 2020 Elite 11 Finals.

Ryan Day has done an excellent job recruiting since he arrived at Ohio State. He recruited well as an offensive coordinator and now as a head coach. His team has done so well that they have the number one recruiting class for the class of 2021.

One of those prospects in the class of 2021 is quarterback out of Philly Kyle McCord. McCord is a 5-star prospect and is the third-best Pro-style quarterback in the country according to 247 Sports. He is a bonafide superstar in the making and will be ready to fight for the starting job as a freshman next season.

In fact, McCord is so good that he was invited to be an Elite 11 finalist for 2020. This is an event where 20 of the top quarterbacks in the country get together for the most elite quarterback camp there is. Several highly-talented quarterbacks of the past have participated.

Quarterbacks such as Dwayne Haskins, Kyler Murray, Tua Tagovailoa, Jared Goff, and Deshaun Watson were all Elite 11 finalists. Current college QB’s Justin Fields, Trevor Lawrence, Sam Howell, and Sam Ehlinger were also Elite 11 finalists as prospects.

You can see the amount of talent that the Elite 11 finals bring in. To have McCord in that list has got to make the Buckeyes happy. McCord has a big and strong arm and has the capability to make all of the throws at the college level and beyond.

McCord will get to showcase his talent in front of all of the other top prospects in the country. It will be a good chance for him to measure himself against future competition. McCord is an excellent competitor, so you know he will want to show he is the best of the quarterbacks there.

Once Justin Fields leaves after this season, the quarterback position becomes wide open. You can bet that McCord will be ready to fight for that coveted starting position once spring ball rolls around.
