No. 3: Texas Longhorns, 2025 and 2026 seasons

Ohio State and Texas matchup in a battle of two great schools starting in 2025 for a home and home series. What a fun matchup this would be if both Ryan Day and former Buckeye offensive coordinator Tom Herman are still both head coaches of the respective programs.

Herman helped lead Ohio State to the 2014 national title and the offense stalled out for the 2015 season after he left to peruse his dreams of becoming a head coach. Ryan Day was tasked in 2017 to help turn the Buckeye offense around and it led to him becoming the Ohio State head coach.

Texas and Ohio State had a big home-and-home series before in the mid-200’s with the Longhorns winning a great game in 2005 as it was a matchup between two top-five ranked schools. The following season Ohio State returned the favor as the No. 1 ranked Buckeyes knocked off the No. 2 ranked Texas 24-7 in Austin.

They met again for the 2009 Fiesta Bowl as Mack Brown and the Texas Longhorns defeated Jim Tressel’s Ohio State Buckeyes 24-21 in another great game.

But the 2025 and 20206 games will be very exciting as both programs have seemed to find the right head coaches and that should lead to an awesome clash between these schools.
