Ohio State and Alabama have agreed to play and home-and-home series. This has the potential to be the biggest non-conference game of the decade if both teams keep up the way they have been performing.

That last time these two teams played was during Ohio State’s magical run to a National Championship in 2014. In what was a defining for the Buckeyes, Cardale Jones and Ezekiel Elliot dismantled the Crimson Tide.

Now we have a scheduled date for a rematch.

Ohio State and Alabama have scheduled a home-and-home for the 2027 and 2028 seasons in what is sure to be the premier non-conference matchup of the season.

The Buckeyes will play host in 2027 before traveling to Tuscaloosa to take on the Crimson Tide in 2028.

Ohio State and Alabama have been two of the absolute best teams in the country over t he last decade, and neither school shows any signs of slowing down as we push into the next decade.

Ohio State recently announced the news and made sure to highlighthow big of a matchup this will be by stating that:

"“[Ohio State and Alabama have the] best records over the last 100 games with Ohio State at 91-9 and Alabama tied with Clemson at 90-10.”"

These two schools have been the gold standard for what every other team is chasing in recent years, and will always be held to National Championship or bust standards.

This matchup is exciting for a few different reasons. Not only are these two programs among the best today, but this may not be the next time the two teams faceoff.

With the Buckeyes and Crimson Tide seemingly always in the mix for the College Football Playoff, there is a good chance that the two programs meet before the home-and-home that was just scheduled.

Anytime two big time programs meet, it is exciting for players and fans, but add in the potential that Ohio State and Alabama will meet in the playoffs before 2027 and this could become the start of a little intra-conference rivalry.
