The Ohio State football team has a very skilled but young group of wide receivers heading into the 2020 campaign. Here are predictions of how things will play out with the talented unit.

The coaching staff on the Ohio State football team is one of the best in the country and all are great recruiters.  Receivers coach Brian Hartline has done an outstanding job during his short time on the job by coaching players up and bringing in more talent.

The 2019 recruiting cycle saw Hartline steal a top 20 national recruit out the heart of Texas in Garrett Wilson, who may be the most physically gifted wide receiver to wear a Scarlet and Gray uniform. They were also able to grab Jamison Williams in that class and he very well could be the fastest Buckeye on the current roster.

The famed 2020 receiver class at Ohio State could go down as the greatest single haul of talent ever assembled at any program. With four top 100 players acquired by Hartline, the future of the receivers room is bright, to say the least.

As we head into summer and with fall camp right around the corner, now is a great time to start getting some predictions in. Today we focus on the receiver room with three predictions for the 2020 season.

No. 3: Garrett Wilson leads the team in receptions and yards

Conventional wisdom says Chris Olave is poised to have a breakout season, and that very well could be true. But the 2020 season will belong to Garrett Wilson as he takes over the H-Back role for KJ Hill.

Hill left Ohio State as its all-time leading receiver. With Wilson’s natural abilities he can take that position to the next level. Ryan Day can get really creative with lining him up in the slot to take advantage of mismatches whether he goes between or outside the hash marks on his routes.

The receiver position is extremely young behind Olave and Wilson so do not be surprised if they get the majority of the reps next season. And that could mean monster-sized numbers for Wilson as he turns into a go-to receiver for Justin Fields in 2020.
