Ryan Day has certainly made an impact on the Ohio State football program and has picked up where Urban Meyer left off.

Day went into Michigan and rolled the Wolverines. This was a big test for Ryan Day and transfer quarterback Justin Fields, as well as the entire Ohio State football team. The Buckeyes have been handling their business against the Wolverines in recent years. The biggest test for Ryan Day and Justin Fields will be this year when they make the trip to Penn State on October 24th.

Ohio State hasn’t had an easy time with Penn State the past four years, all the games have been decided by less than twelve points. When the Buckeyes show up to State College, Ryan Day and Fields will walk into an atmosphere that they have never experienced.

Depending on Penn State’s record it could be a night game, and those night games tend to be White Outs. The fans will be rocking the stands from kick-off until the final whistle. Last time the Buckeyes made the trip to State College they ran out of town with a 27-26 victory over the Nittany Lions.

This game was controlled by Penn State for most of the game. Haskins and company made a strong push and squeezed out a victory for the Buckeyes. Last season Penn State came to Columbus and the Buckeyes walked with a win by eleven points.

The Buckeyes are looking to make a big push for the College Football Playoff, and this game against Penn State will make or break their season. The game is later in the year and will make it tough to rebound from if they were to fall short in a victory.

Justin Fields and Ryan Day have a sour taste in their mouths after the way the season had ended last year, and they are looking to come back with a vengeance. The Buckeyes will have other tough road tests like Oregon in week 2 and Michigan State the week before Penn State.

Fields and Day must make sure that everyone is focused and ready to go when they make the trip to State College because Penn State and their fans will be ready. One thing that can be said about Coach Ryan Day is that he focuses on the task at hand and the game in front of him, not the game that is coming up.

This is why it is important for the Bucks to be on top of their game when they go to East Lansing and take care of business and then hit the film, weights, and game planning hard for the next week. The game against Penn State will make or break Ohio State’s College Football Playoff hopes

If the Buckeyes win, they have a better shot at making the playoff and if they were to lose their chances of making the playoff are slim.

The Buckeyes need to win and win convincingly. They have to come into the Whiteout and dominate the game from start to finish. Ryan Day is a winner just like Urban was a winner. The difference is that Ryan Day keeps his foot on the petal and does not let up.

The state of Ohio State recruiting. dark. Next

He understands that the wins have to be convincing to look good for the committee. That’s why the Buckeyes will not let up and will be more than prepared to make a statement when they take their trip to State College.  Fields and Day will show the nation why the Ohio State Buckeyes are one of the best teams in the country and why they deserve to be in the College Football Playoff.
