The Ohio State football team could add another 5-star player to their already impressive 2021 recruiting class.

Ohio State football is built on recruiting the best talent in the world. Ryan Day and company have done an excellent job of this. The 2021 class is ranked number one in the country and is on pace to be the best class in school history. The Buckeyes already have 17 commits for that class and could be on the verge of getting one more.

JC Latham announced last week that he is getting ready to commit to a school. He has over 25 offers from schools around the country as a 5-star offensive tackle. The prospect from Bradenton, Florida is the third-best prospect in the nation and the number one tackle in the country according to 247 Sports.

Latham has Ohio State pretty high on his list. He knows the long list of Buckeye linemen who have been able to make it in the NFL, with the most recent being Jonah Jackson. Adding Latham would be a monster get to an already stellar recruiting class.

It looks like the top competition for Latham is Alabama. In fact, most experts say that Bama is the leader in the clubhouse for Latham to land. What hurts Ohio State a little bit is that they already have a tackle commit for this class, 4-star Ben Christman.

A player of Latham’s caliber shouldn’t be worried about a little competition though. If he is as good as his tape looks, he can go anywhere and immediately make an impact on the offensive line. Day and his staff hope he does that for the Buckeyes.
