The Ohio State football team’s best weapon on offense is poised for a huge season in wide receiver Chris Olave.

The Ohio State football coaches have a lot to figure out once fall camp begins. With only a few spring practices and no spring football game, the Scarlet and Gray are behind the eight ball. With six new starters expected on defense, Ohio State also has to figure out who will emerge at receiver.

Gone are Bin Victor, Austin Mack and K.J. Hill. The Buckeyes have to figure out a way to replace their combined 118 receptions for 1,542 yards and 19 touchdowns in 2019.

Ohio State does have an unbelievably talented receiver room at the moment, but most of the players are extremely young. With true sophomore Garrett Wilson expected to take a leap into a starting role this season, the only veteran presence on the unit is going to have to step up and be relied upon even more in 2020.

Chris Olave is poised to have his best season yet as a Buckeye. With no doubt, Olave is the best route runner on the team and already has an established relationship with quarterback Justin Fields.

Olave will be relied upon to not only be a deep threat but also as a go-to target on third down situations. Expect his playing time to also increase as he substituted positions with the other receivers last season. With the receiver corps being so young, a traditional playing time rotation will be less likely in 2020.

And as the season progresses and the games get tougher down the stretch, rest assured that Olave will be one that is asked to make key plays in close games. The WR should be in store for his biggest season yet as a member of the Ohio State football team, and with another solid season of production, he may just get rewarded as being a high draft pick next spring.
