With the Coronavirus situation, most fans have wondered if there would be a college football season or not. If there is, think about other situations.

Many have wondered if there would be a 2020 college football season but it appears there will be. However, there is talk about teams playing in an empty stadium or in front of a sparse crowd so there can be social distancing.

I haven’t heard anybody talking about all of the ramifications if either will be the case. I’ll delve into how that could affect the CFB landscape and college sports as a whole.

With huge TV contracts Power Five conferences will be able to fund the football programs. How about the non-revenue sports that need money from fans in the seats on Saturday to survive.

Don’t you think some schools would cut out lacrosse, volleyball, wrestling etc,.

And what if the state of Ohio limits fans to football games. Just think about how that would affect the Mid American Conference which doesn’t have a huge TV contract.

Five Ohio schools are in the MAC and might have difficulty funding the football program, let alone non-revenue sports if there aren’t fans in the stadium.

What if teams from smaller conferences like the MAC just thought it best to skip the 2020 season. Power Five teams schedule those schools so they may not play 12 games if that were to be the case.

It’s still too early to see how things will play out but I had to mention these things that have been on my mind.

Next. Ryan Day could break Urban Meyer’s record. dark

As a college football nut I’m just hoping the stands will be filled in the fall and things will be fine. I’m just not sure that will be the case at this moment.
