Three Ohio State football games on the schedule should be circled because they are difficult ones. Two are against familiar foes and the other is a cross-country battle which should provide intrigue.

Under Ryan Day the Ohio State football team has played at a high level most games. There has not been the tendency, as there has in years past, to play down to the level of competition.

Anything can happen on a given Saturday though and looking at the schedule there are three games that jump out as the most challenging this fall.

I’ll begin with an interesting non-conference road game.

Oregon

The Buckeyes will leave the confines of the ‘Shoe in the second week of the season in 2020 to go across the country and visit the Ducks.

Last year, Oregon had a last second loss to Auburn and a bizarre upset coming from Arizona State, but played well the rest of the way. Winning the Pac-12 and beating Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl capped off a good season.

Oregon will be breaking in a new quarterback and have several freshman projected to start but this is a dangerous team. Add in the fact that Ohio State has to travel across the country and this is not a game to take lightly.

Now for two important conference matchups.
