The Ohio State football team is entering the 2020 with question marks at running back, but has a stacked wide receiving corp that could take over the offense.

The Ohio State football program has been the powerhouse of the Big Ten for years. The Big Ten is often viewed as a rough and tumble, run between the tackles kind of conference, but the Buckeyes are better positioned to air it our this fall.

Let me start by saying that Ohio State develops great running backs, and there is talent in that room. It just does not compare to the wide receiver room.

Wide receivers are headlined this year by Chris Olave who has a chance to be a first round draft pick and legitimate star. He is accompanied by a trio of sophomores who were all highly regarded in Garrett Wilson, Jameson Williams and Kamryn Babb.

Finally, an incredibly talented incoming group of freshman includes Julian Fleming, Mookie Cooper, Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Gee Scott Jr.

That is a ton of talent in one room. My recommendation is to throw the ball early, often and repeatedly to get it in the hands of your best players.

The Buckeyes had a year not to distantly from when they did throw the ball more often than not when Dwayne Haskins was behind center. The issue that year was always could we get the rushing game going, especially since Haskins was not a threat to run.

Enter Justin Fields.

Fields is a huge threat to run the ball whenever something breaks down in the pocket or coverage. He is also accurate with the deep ball and can get receivers the ball quick to let them show off their skills.

Buckeyes who need to step up in 2020. dark. Next

Ohio State should look to get their best players the ball in 2020, and this means letting Justin Fields take control of the offense and throw the ball all over the field.
