The Ohio State football team is loaded with talent at the skill positions. Here are the top 10 players currently on the roster.

The Ohio State football team doesn’t re-build it reloads. Proof of this comes from the running back position as the Buckeyes lost one of their all time best ball carries in JK Dobbins to the NFL and yet Ryan Day reloaded the room with talent.

The head coach brought in Oklahoma transfer Trey Sermon and gained verbal commitments from two top 100 running back recruits for the 2021 class in Evan Pryor and Treyvon Henderson.

But the focus remains on the 2020 team as most experts expect this Buckeye squad to challenge for a national championship. In order to do so they are going to need to score a lot of points as the defense probably will not be as stout as it was a season ago.

Obviously Justin Fields is the top skill position player on the Ohio State football team, but here I’ll look at the top 10 players who will be catching passes or taking hand-offs from the QB.

No. 10: Luke Farrell, TE

Luke Farrell is the likely starter at tight end for Ohio State but is unlikely to see a lot of targets next season. The senior from Perry, Ohio had only seven receptions for 119 yards last season but his real value for this offense comes in his blocking. Expect to see the same sort of production in 2020 as he had in 2019.

No. 9: Gee Scott Jr, WR

Gee Scott Jr. is a very highly rated and touted incoming freshmen for Ohio State. The four-star recruit from Sammamish, Washington expects to compete for playing time as the fifth or sixth receiver in Ryan Day’s system.

No. 8: Jaxson Smith-Njigba, WR

Another one of the highly rated incoming freshman, Smith-Njigba is as physical gifted as any receiver recruit in the country and is sure to vie for playing time next season. He is a dynamic player who can take the ball to the house anytime he has it in his hands.

No. 7: Julian Fleming, WR

The last of the highly rated incoming freshman receivers to make this list, Julian Fleming has all the potential in the world to be Ohio State’s next great receiver. The No. 3 overall player in the 2019 class is poised to have an impact as a true freshman.

No. 6: Jamison Williams, WR

Jameson Williams, the sophomore speedster had six catches for 112 yards last season and figures to have a big impact on the 2020 team as an outside threat.
