Running back J.K. Dobbins was a star running back for the Ohio State football team but slipped to the second round of this year’s NFL draft.

After a record-setting season for the Ohio State football team last season, J.K. Dobbins was selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the second round of the NFL Draft. Despite it being speculated the Pittsburgh Steelers would be the team to pick the soon to be a star back. Now, the Steelers will have to line up against Dobbins twice a year, a decision that they will likely soon regret.

In the third round the Ravens chose another Buckeye, linebacker Malik Harrison. Head coach John Harbaugh was thrilled with Dobbins falling to the Ravens and had a comment afterward that is yet another victory in the greatest rivalry in college sports.

In an interview with ESPN, Harbaugh, whose brother Jim coaches at Michigan, was quoted as saying this, per The Spun:

"“Well I didn’t love the school he comes from but I liked everything else about him” Harbaugh said of Dobbins. “He was right there, probably our top-rated running back. Just such an explosive, downhill runner. He has lateral cut ability. I think we added a lot of speed and he’s a big part of that.”"

The interview did not lead to any questions asked about Malik Harrison. However, a team in contention for a Super Bowl like the Ravens would not use such a valuable pick on a player they were not completely confident about.

Ohio State football fans can take a small moral victory in this interview because none can watch the Buckeyes dominate the Wolverines on the playing field at the moment.

It is safe to say that Dobbins and Harrison will be tearing up the competition on Sundays and they could not have been drafted into a better situation. They will likely be contending for a Super Bowl during their rookie years.

Dobbins will likely be the featured back in a now elite backfield being paired with veteran back Mark Ingram II. Harrison will be a part of an organization that is built upon old school hard-hitting defense which is a role he will thrive in and will be able to learn from defensive greats like C.J. Mosley and Earl Thomas.

Next. What an NFL team full of Buckeyes would look like. dark

This season will make for plenty of exciting football filled weekends for Buckeye fans that will not end once their team leaves the field on Saturdays. Teams like the Baltimore Ravens are one of many teams that feature former Ohio State football players fans can continue to cheer for throughout the rest of their careers on Sundays.
