10 Ohio State football players heard their names called in this year’s NFL draft. Others didn’t but may play at the next level.

Five Ohio State football players were picked up by teams as after the draft according to an article by Buckeye Extra. Here is a look at players picked up as undrafted free agents and the teams willing to give them a shot at making the roster.

TE Rashod Berry:  New England Patriots

I like this guy’s chances at making the roster. Bill Belichick loves value players and the Patriots don’t like to overpay.

Berry performed well at tight end and on defense at Ohio State. Coach Belichick may see Rashod as two players for the price of one, and he is fond of Ohio State football players.

I’ll link these next two guys together.

OT Branden Bowen:  Carolina Panthers:

WR Austin Mack:  New York Giants

Both players performed well for Ohio State but dealt with injuries.

Bowen played well at right guard but an injury in 2017 ended his season and sidelined him all of  2018. He performed well at right tackle last season but injury situations make general managers think twice.

I think that was the knock on Mack as well. He suffered a leg injury in the middle of the 2018 season and was dinged up some last year.

I could see Bowen being a versatile lineman in the NFL and Mack being a productive third down receiver. That’s if they can stay healthy.

WR Binjimen Victor: New York Giants

The 6 ft. 4 wide receiver showed promise early on but was inconsistent. He picked up his game with Brian Hartline coaching him up the last two years though. He is a diamond in the rough who may impress the Giants’ coaching staff once they see him up close.

LS Liam McCullough:  Las Vegas Raiders

Long snappers are valued in the NFL and McCullough is an excellent one. Expect him to play on Sundays for several years.

Next. 5 Buckeyes will play in Michigan or for Harbaugh. dark

I hope these guys will make an NFL roster. It’s always difficult for undrafted free agents to do so but at least each of these Buckeyes have a chance.
