Ohio State Football: Predicting remaining targets for 2021 recruiting class
The Ohio State football team is off to a hot start for the 2021 recruiting cycle. Here are my predictions for other players who may join the class.
Head coach Ryan Day hit the ground running for the 20201 recruiting class. Far and away the No. 1 class in the country as to date, Ohio State looks to close the class out with a strong finish.
After filling major needs at running back and in the secondary, Ohio State currently has 15 verbal commitments for 2021. With 87 player currently on scholarship for 2020, that number needs to be reduced to 85 for NCAA regulation.
And with current seniors and expected juniors who will jump to the NFL Draft after next season plays out, the Buckeyes currently are looking at a class size of between 21 and 23 players. One of the players will have to be a punter as senior Drue Christman is set to leave after next season.
So all in all, Ohio State has room for about six more players in this recruiting class. And with a couple of holes left to fill on the roster here are my predictions of which remaining targets will join the 2021 recruiting class.
No. 6: Troy Stellato, WR
Ohio State has locked up some of the best talent in the country at wide receiver over the past two recruiting cycles. And with the Buckeyes already having four-star prospects in Marvin Harrison Jr. and Jayden Ballard already locked up, the Buckeyes might be looking for one more receiver as a cherry to put on top of this class.
Troy Stellato is a hot receiver prospect who is currently shooting up recruiting boards. And with the expected decision for Stellato to come down between Ohio State and Clemson, this is a recruiting battle worthy of keeping an eye on.
It will be very hard to bet against Brian Hartline with the recruiting classes he has put together, so if Ohio Sate really wants Stellato I would expect him to be a Buckeye in 2021.
