J. K. Dobbins left the Ohio State football team for the NFL but talented backs are coming into the picture in the 2020 and 2021 so defenses should be worried.

Well, it looks like the Ohio State football team has made great running back moves in the off-season.  We knew with JK Dobbins declaring for the draft, the Buckeyes would have to find his replacement.

It looked like it would be Master Teague who is a powerful running back but is coming off of injury. On March 25, 2020, it was announced that former Oklahoma Sooner running back Trey Sermon, who entered the transfer portal just ten days prior, was going head to Columbus.

According to elevenwarriors.com, Sermon always wanted to be a Buckeye. here is a quote from Sermon’s mother Natoshia Mitchell as reported in the article:

"“He didn’t want to hear from any other school, and to not talk to anyone,” since the Buckeyes were going to reach out."

In two years as a Sooner, Sermon had 2,467 yards from scrimmage, averaging 6.6 yards per carry and 25 total touchdowns.  His biggest season at Oklahoma was in 2018 where he finished with 947 yards on the ground and 13 touchdowns.

Now for outstanding high school commits

Trey Sermon will be gone after next season but Ohio State fans should not be concerned as five-star running back TreVeyon Henderson from Hopewell Virginia has committed to play for the Buckeyes.

Nearly every single major college offered Henderson, so he had a tough choice. He chose to wear Scarlet and Gray.

During the 2019 high school football season, Henderson rushed for nearly 2,000 yards (1,989), 39 touchdowns and averaged 12.7 yards per carry.  Henderson also rushed for 224 yards and four touchdowns in the state championship game as Hopewell took care of Lord Botetourt 35-7.

It’s going to be hard for defenses to stop this young guy.  Just think, he has one more year of high school to break even more records.

Henderson will join a four-star commit named Evan Pryor at Ohio State.  The Hough High School running back has 2,571 career rushing yards and 42 total touchdowns.

Next. Recruiting dead period extended, should help OSU. dark

For now, we wait patiently for the return of college football and every other sport in general, in hopes that this coronavirus dies out and we can go back to enjoying the games that we love.
