One assistant coach on the Ohio State football team is on quite a roll. Tony Alford has landed a graduate transfer and two outstanding running backs in the 2021 class in a short period of time.

The No. 2 running back in this year’s class in the 247Sports Composite, TreVeyon Henderson, announced today he would play Ohio State football. That gives coach Tony Alford three huge gets in a short period of time.

Let’s first look at the new commit, and boy is he a good one.

Henderson is from Hopewell, Virginia and is listed at 5 ft. 11, 195 pounds. He is ranked as the No. 17 player in the country and according to an article by Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports he rushed for 2,424 yards and 45 touchdowns as a junior.

Now, a look at Henderson’s highlights and you will see why he is so highly ranked.

Some guys just make things look easy don’t they? Great running backs have great vision and anticipation and that’s what impressed me the most about Henderson while watching the highlights. Oh yeah, his speed isn’t too shabby either.

Henderson joins Evan Pryor, the 6th ranked RB and No. 85 overall player in the 247Sports Composite, giving coach Alford quite a duo in this year’s class. When you combine these two outstanding recruits with graduate transfer Trey Sermon to help bridge the gap until they get on campus and you have to admit he is having a great month.

Henderson’s commitment gives Ryan Day 15 players in the 2021 class already. Ohio State now has five more recruits than No. 2 Clemson and leads in the rankings 280.61 points to 220.98.

Next. 3 way too early predictions for 2020 season. dark

Coach Day has quite a haul of outstanding skill position players in the 2021 class. In addition to the outstanding running backs he has five-star quarterback Kyle McCord and two of the top receivers in the country Marvin Harrison Jr. and Jayden Ballard on board. The head coach, Tony Alford and Brian Hartline are certainly loading up the Buckeyes’ offensive arsenal.
