Running backs coach Tony Alford comes in at No. 2. That may have something to do with the success his running backs have had during his time at Ohio State.

In 2015 Ezekiel Elliot rushed for 1,821 yards and 23 touchdowns. Mike Weber rushed for over 1,000 yards as a redshirt freshman the following year and finished his college career with 2,676 rushing yards and 24 touchdowns.

J.K. Dobbins became the first Buckeye running back to rush for over 1,000 yards his first three years, capping off his career with a 2,000 yard season. Dobbins rushed for 4,459 yards and 38 touchdowns during his three years at Ohio State.

Now a look at the Ohio State offensive line coach ranked as the 24th best recruiter in this year’s class.

Greg Studrawa has coached three centers who were converted guards to become NFL draft picks, and two were Rimington Award winners. Here is a list of his Ohio State linemen who were drafted.

  • Pat Elflein 3rd Rd.
  • Billy Price 1st Rd.
  • Jamarco Jones 5th Rd.
  • Michael Jordan 4th Rd.
  • Isaiah Prince 6th round

Last season coach Studrawa only had one full-time returning starter but the Buckeyes had one of the top offensive line units in the country. Don’t you think that makes an impression on a highly rated offensive lineman?

Of course offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson and head coach Ryan Day certainly help the assistant coaches on the recruiting trail. With those guys leading the way recruits expect they will play in an explosive offense.

Next I’ll look at the terrific job the defensive coaches are doing on the recruiting trail. They are an impressive bunch as well.
