The Ohio State football team has been on a tear on the recruiting front these last two days. Running back Evan Pryor is the latest to commit.

Even though the Ohio State football coaches can’t hit the recruiting trail they still are hitting home runs on the recruiting front. After landing two top cornerbacks in consecutive days the Buckeyes got exactly what they needed on Monday evening.

Four-star running back and top 100 recruit Evan Pryor from Charlotte, North Carolina committed to head coach Ryan Day last evening. This was a massive target for the Buckeyes as they are in dire need of adding two running backs for this 2021 recruiting cycle.

Pryor has been seen as a Buckeye lean as he has been to Columbus more than a few times during his recruitment. However, there was momentum from Mack Brown at North Carolina and pressure for Pryor to stay in his home state. But that momentum was short-lived as Pryor chose Ohio State on Monday.

The Buckeyes are getting one of the top running backs in the country as he has a multitude of skill sets. This from Zach Carpenter of Eleven Warriors:

"When the play isn’t there, Pryor slows down after the handoff, waiting patiently for his blocking to develop, using that vision to pick his spot and then using that burst for big gains. Once through the hole and to the next level, he’s laterally agile as well, using subtle footwork to create his own cutback lanes with no wasted movement."

With his athleticism, speed and agility look for Pryor to make his presence felt early in his time at Ohio State as the running back room will be looking toward him for depth right away.

This Top 100 commitment also mean that the Buckeyes increase its already No. 1 rated 2021 recruiting class lead over No. 2 Clemson. This is shaping up to be one of the all time great classes in recent Buckeye history.

It is also not over anytime soon as four-star recruit, and the No. 3 ranked defensive end in the country Tunmise Adeleye, hinted that his Buckeye commitment could be coming soon via his twitter account.

Now that Ohio State has one top flight running back recruit, its time for them to press on and find a second. Donovan Edwards, the No. 2 ranked back in this class, seems to be the logical match as the Buckeyes are recruiting him hard. Lets see if they can close the deal with him and finish this running back class off strong.
