No. 2: Sevyn Banks, cornerback

The Ohio State secondary has lost a lot of members of its secondary this offseason due to the NFL Draft or other reasons. This depleted unit is in need of its young guys to step up and produce. Sevyn Banks will be called upon to take on a larger role as either the second outside corner or inside in the slot.

Banks has seen plenty of action the past two seasons as a member of the special teams unit and that typically means that he is trust worthy because of the value that the coaching staff puts on being a member of that unit.

He will be given every opportunity to succeed this spring and I believe he is ready to step into a larger role on this team. With the guidance of new defensive coordinator/secondary coach Kerry Coombs, expect to see a good spring from Sevyn Banks.

No. 1: Zach Harrison, defensive end

The Buckeyes are losing their best defensive playmaker in recent history in Chase Young. Replacing him will be difficult. No one player will be able to do what Young did last season. Players such as Tyler Friday, Javontae Jean-Baptiste, Jonathan Cooper and Tyreke Smith will all have their say in who gets playing time at defensive end.

But Zach Harrison is next in line to be a great pass rusher under the tutelage of Larry Johnson. The former five-star recruit from a year ago held his own last season as a freshman. Finishing with 14 tackles and 3.5 sacks, Harrison will look to take the leap this offseason to being a dominate pass rush force.

And it is very important to Harrison that he leaves a legacy here in Columbus, via Eleven Warriors:

"“I want to leave a legacy here,” Harrison said. “I want people to be like, ‘Oh, Zach Harrison, he was one of the greatest to come through Ohio State.’ That’s going to mean a lot more to me because, coming from home, I’ll be able to take my kids here and grow up in a community where they know my name and stuff like that.”"

Next. Are the Redskins or Lions a better fit for Chase Young?. dark

With a heart like that, I look forward to seeing Harrison flourish this spring.
