The Ohio State football team starts spring practices this week. Here are five players poised to have breakout springs.

Head coach Ryan Day and his coaches enter their second round of spring practices as a coaching staff of the Ohio State football team.

With so many talented players on the roster and a few holes to fill from the NFL Draft, here are five players that will step up and get recognized as breakout players during spring ball.

No. 5: Jameson Williams, wide receiver

All the talk has been about Garrett Wilson this offseason and for good reason. Wilson is poised to become a major contributor to this Buckeye offense in just his second season with the program. But another second-year player, Jameson Williams, looks to add his name to that list as well.

Williams saw some action last season as a true freshman and his natural speed on the field was evident every time he stepped on to it. That speed can give him a leg up for playing time over the incoming freshman from this past recruiting class.

And with a solid round of spring practices to impress the coaches, look for Williams to lock down that No. 3 receiver spot behind Wilson and Chris Olave.

Now a look at two ‘Bigs’ from the 2018 class.
