The Ohio State football team possesses the opportunity to earn a new title in 2020. The Buckeyes will be in position to overtake Alabama and Clemson.

The Ohio State football team has seen its most success in program history this millennium, but more specifically since 2012. However, the Buckeyes could never reach dynasty status like Nick Saban’s Crimson Tide or now Dabo Swinney’s Tigers. It always felt like Ohio State had an elite program, but still had a small hole that would end up being exploited during the season.

Last year, Ryan Day changed the narrative, and, thanks to Urban Meyer assembled arguably the greatest football team in Ohio State history. The talent was off the charts, and the statistics reflected it as did the rankings. The Buckeyes cruised through the Big Ten conference and clinched a berth in the CFP at 13-0.

Over the past eight and a half years, Urban Meyer and now Ryan Day have continued building a juggernaut in Columbus and the fruits of their labor were on full display as the Buckeyes were a complete, well-oiled high-octane machine firing on all cylinders each week.

Success does not come overnight, it takes patience, persistence and a system, and the Ohio State football program has one of the best systems in place in the entire country. Players are consistently NFL ready and are making immediate impacts year in and year out (i.e. Michael Thomas, the Bosa brothers, Ezekiel Elliott, etc.).

But to get to the next level and see tremendous success, players need an elite strength coach, position coaches and a head coach all tied together with the bow of an elite culture. Coach Mick puts together some of the most intense workouts and conditioning in the country for the players which prepares them for the season and the next level.

A program Urban Meyer and Tim Kight developed called Real Life Wednesdays is the life side of the football operation that prepares the student-athletes for life beyond football which is another great benefit Ohio State offers.

Overall, the Buckeyes were finally able to put it all together the right way and take the next step forward in becoming college football’s next great dynasty. Ryan Day and the Ohio State football team are showing no signs of letting up and have recruited extremely well, reloading all the key positions including all the skill roles.

Next. Former three-star recruits living a dream. dark

I firmly believe Alabama takes a step back this season and Ohio State and Clemson get the opportunity for a rematch for the National Title with more on the line than just rings. The opportunity to become the next great dynasty will be in hand for the Buckeyes, but will officially be earned by the Tigers with a win which would be their third title in five years.
