There have been many former Ohio State football players who have had terrific NFL careers. Here is a look at three on their way to doing so.

There have been many phenomenal Ohio State football players who have been drafted into the NFL over the years.  Here is a look at the top three Buckeyes playing in the league at the moment.

I’ll look at how those players have performed so far in the NFL as well as take a look back at their college careers. Also, what you may expect from them going forward beginning with a player who had a great rookie season.

No. 3 Nick Bosa

Starting off at No. 3 is the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Nick Bosa.

The goal was for Bosa to keep the family name alive, and he did exactly that. In his sophomore season at Ohio State, Bosa was named unanimous First Team All-Big Ten and the Smith-Brown Defensive Lineman of the Year.

His career as a Buckeye ended on Sept. 20, 2018 when he suffered a core-muscle injury against the TCU Horned Frogs in week three and had to have surgery.  He officially withdrew from Ohio State on Oct. 16 in order to focus his attention on the 2019 NFL Draft.

Bosa was selected as the second pick in the NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers and was stellar his first season.

The 49ers went from 28th in total defense to 8th. Bosa finished his rookie season with 47 total tackles, nine sacks, a forced fumble and an interception.

If I’m an offensive lineman going into 2020, I need to learn how to block every single gap so Bosa doesn’t get through. Because once he does, it’s over.
