The Ohio State basketball team traveled to Madison to face the Wisconsin Badgers on a three game winning streak but the run came to an end.

For the first 12 minutes of play neither the Ohio State basketball team nor the Wisconsin Badgers could seem to gain an advantage. However, when the scored was tied at 15 and Kaleb Wesson picked up his second foul everything changed.

The Badgers outscored the Buckeyes 23-5 the rest of the first half and took a 38-20 lead into the break.

Ohio State scored the first 7 points in the second half to pull with 11 but never could get closer than that the rest of the way. Wisconsin extended the lead to 63-39 with a little less than eight minutes to pay and cruised to a 70-57 win.

There were two Badgers in double figures, Brevin Pritzl (19) and Aleem Ford (10). Nate Reevers and Micah Potter each scored 9.

The Buckeyes were led by Andre Wesson with 11 points. C.J. Walker and Luther Muhammad chipped in with 9 apiece.

Quick takes:

After watching the game I wonder how Wisconsin is only 14-10 overall and 7-6 in the Big Ten. The Badgers have a talented front court, and players who can shoot from three or get their own shots. They also play terrific defense and rarely turn the ball over.

Micah Potter is simply a much better player than he was for Ohio State. In addition to scoring 9 points he had 2 blocks and pulled down 5 rebounds in 24 minutes. Just think if he was in the rotation with Kaleb Wesson and Kyle Young.

One Buckeye who stood out today was E.J. Liddell. Not only because of his stats, 8 points, 5 rebounds and a block in 16 minutes, but he seemed to bring a different attitude when he stepped onto the floor and his intensity was impressive.

He always brings energy to the lineup and has had a nice freshman season. But sometimes it takes a young guy going through the first half of the grueling Big Ten schedule before the light comes on. If that has happened for this talented freshman it bodes well for the Buckeyes moving forward.
