The Ohio State football program has most of their 2020 recruiting class signed and on campus, but can we expect anything from signing day tomorrow?

The Ohio State football program has already signed a top five class for 2020 to help replace the bevy of talent that left for the NFL or graduated this past year, according to 247Sports. But, with National Signing Day coming up tomorrow, will the Buckeyes be major players?

The short answer, is probably not.

Ohio State is already pretty full on their scholarship limit, and Cameron Martinez has been firm in his commitment to sign with the Buckeyes. He has recently taken to Twitter to reaffirm his commitment to become an Ohio State Buckeye.

There is a good chance that he will be the only addition between now and the start of the season.

Eleven Warriors sums it up well.

"While there are loopholes that would have allowed Ohio State to sign more than 25 players for the class of 2020 – the Buckeyes signed less than 25 players in 2019, so they could have retroactively counted a few of their midyear enrollees toward that class – there are no loopholes that allow a team to have more than 85 players on scholarship when the season starts, and including Martinez, the Buckeyes are now up to 87 scholarship players (not including incoming kicker Jake Seibert, who is expected to grayshirt) for 2020."

Ohio State has a very full class this year, which is one reason they rank so highly on every recruiting board. Even though there will not be a lot of last-second signings, that doesn’t mean the Buckeyes are in a bad spot.

Unlike last year where the Buckeyes gained valuable players via the transfer portal, head coach Ryan Day will make due with the current players on the roster and the incoming freshmen that will be there this summer.

Also unlike last year, Ohio State has far fewer areas of concern that need addressed by bringing in outside talent. The offense has a returning Heisman finalist quarterback, a stable of talented wide receivers and the bulk of their offensive line still intact.

On defense, the Buckeyes have a lot of pieces that need to be replaced, but the coaching staff feels confident with the players already on the roster.

Next. Buckeyes could have consecutive Rookies of the Year. dark

Ohio State will most likely only sign one person tomorrow, however, the Buckeyes should once again be the favorite in the Big Ten and a contender for the College Football Playoffs in 2020.
