The Ohio State football team’s offensive line was one of the best in the country last season. Expect that to continue in 2020.

The offensive line for the Ohio State football team is losing two key members from the 2019 team. Gone are seniors Jonah Jackson and Branden Bowen, but the Buckeyes have a slew of good young talented players who can replace them.

Let’s take a dive into the offensive line.

Starters: Thayer Munford, Wyatt Davis, Josh Meyers, Harry Miller, Nicholas Petite-Frere

This is an impressive starting unit as it returns three starters from a season ago. Center Josh Meyers and guard Wyatt Davis will be on every voter’s shortlist as preseason All-Americans. Thayer Munford is a steady and reliable force at left tackle who should hopefully be healthy this next season.

Right tackle will be a position up for grabs and Nicholas Petit Frere will be favored to win the job as he comes in with much hype. The former five-star recruit finally gets his chance to earn a starting spot.

Finally, Harry Miller, who will eventually be the starting center after Josh Myers leaves, should be next in line to start at guard for the departed Jonah Jackson. Miller is also a former five-star prospect as the coaches will be looking at any way possible to get him on the field.

Second String: Dawand Jones, Parris Johnson Jr., Gavin Cupp, Enokk Vimahi

Dawand Jones had an impressive season last year as a freshman in limited playing time. He will get a chance to start at right tackle but could be used as a backup swing tackle next season. Parris Johnson Jr. will be in the mix for the starting tackle spot. The five-star true freshmen will have his work cut out for him to beat two players already in the Buckeye system though.

Gavin Cupp and Enokk Vimahi will serve as the backup guards to Miller and Davis. Cupp might have the leg up due to him being a senior and it is believed that he can play both tackle and guard. Vimahi is in his second season with the program. Look for Harry Miller to be the backup center if Myers would need to come out of the game with either Cupp or Vimahi to replace Miller at guard.
