Nick Bosa and older brother Joey were two of the best defensive ends ever to play Ohio State football and both are now stars in the NFL.

It appeared Nick Bosa wanted to be like his older brother before he ever joined the Ohio State football program. It’s amazing how similar their career paths have been from high school to the pros.

Joey Bosa was the No. 4 ranked strongside defensive end in the 2013 recruiting class. The younger brother was ranked No. 1 at the same position and was the eighth best overall player in the 2016 class.

The older Bosa was named a Freshman All-American in 2013. The next two years he was a consensus All-American, Big Ten Lineman of the Year and Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year in 2014.

Nick was also a Freshman All-American. His sophomore season he was named Big Ten Lineman of the Year. He was off to an outstanding junior season with 4 sacks and 6 tackles for loss before it was cut short due to an injury.

Joey was chosen as the third pick in the 2016 NFL Draft by the San Diego Chargers (Now L.A. Chargers). His first season he registered 10.5 sacks and was named the NFL Rookie Defensive Player of the year.

The San Francisco 49ers selected Nick with the No. 2 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. His 47 tackles and 9 sacks earned him the PFWA Rookie of the Year Award.

Nick does have a leg up on his older brother as the 49ers are playing in the Super Bowl and the Chargers haven’t made the big game yet.

I think San Francisco’s opponents should be a little concerned for at least the next three years. Joey has sacked the quarterback 40 times his first four seasons.

Next. 3 Buckeyes who need big spring practices. dark

Nick will almost certainly strive to reach that total. After all, you can tell he wants to be like his big brother. You can bet he will try to reach or surpass the numbers Joey has put up.
