With offseason workouts heating up and spring ball right around the corner, who are three Ohio State football players who need to have big springs to get playing time?

As February is here and spring ball is right around the corner for this Ohio State football team, there are multiple players who need to have a good round of practices in order to earn playing time next season.

Least season players like Master Teague, Justin Fields, and Garrett Wilson all flashed and all  earned roles with the team last season. Who are three players that can do the same this upcoming season for the Buckeyes?

No.1 Taron Vincent, defensive tackle

Taron Vincent is somebody that I mentioned who could be an All-American type player for Ohio State next season. Coming to Columbus in 2018 as a five-star prospect and No.1 defensive tackle in the country, Vincent has all the ability and physical traits to be one of the best in the nation.

Vincent has been recovering from a torn labrum and all indications show that he will be ready for spring practices once they begin. The road to a starting spot for this Buckeye defensive line starts there. Vincent needs to show coach Larry Johnson that he is ready to take the next step and earn reps for this team next season.

Ohio State will be losing it’s top three defensive tackles to the NFL so both starting spots are wide open. The competition will be fierce between Vincent, Tommy Togiai Haskell Garrett, Jerron Cage and Antwuan Jackson.

Vincent has to beat out at least three other players for a starting position and the way to get ahead in that competition is with a good round of practices come time for spring ball. Vincent also has to show the coaching staff that he is fully healthy and that he can take the pounding that is required of a Big Ten defensive tackle.
