San Francisco 49ers defensive end and former Ohio State football team member Nick Bosa was named the NFL Rookie of the Year on Thursday.

Things just keep getting better for San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa. After being selected No. 2 overall in the NFL Draft last spring out of Ohio State, the former Buckeye and his team battled its way through the NFC playoffs and into Super Bowl LIV.

And on Thursday, Bosa was announced as the 2019 Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year. He had a tremendous season for the 49ers as he started 14 games and recorded 47 tackles, nine sacks, one forced fumble and one interception. A very good start to a hopefully long and productive NFL career.

In addition to this honor, Bosa was also named the 2019 Rookie of the Year by the Pro Football Writers of America a couple of weeks ago. He was also named to the Pro Bowl for his efforts this past season.

The former Buckeye great was also selected as the 2019 NFC Defensive Player of the Month back in October and was a two-time NFC Defensive Player of the Week.

Nick Bosa’s stellar play did not stop in the regular season and continued into the playoffs. He recorded six tackles with two sacks and a pass deflection in the 49ers big 27-10 divisional round victory over the Minnesota Vikings. Bosa then went out against the Green Bay Packers in the NFC championship game and had four tackles and a sack in that one as well.

Next. No. 1 RB recruit’s interest in OSU is encouraging. dark

His dominance this season has been on full display for the world to watch as these playoffs rolled along and now he gets to do it on football’s biggest stage this Sunday in the Super Bowl. Bosa looks to have his pass rushing presence felt early and often against Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Good luck Nick.
