Ohio State Football: Jonah Jackson and KJ Hill dominating Senior Bowl
The Ohio State football team always produces top NFL talent. Two Buckeyes are showcasing their talents at the Senior Bowl.
Ohio State offensive lineman Jonah Jackson and wide receiver KJ Hill are turning heads in Mobile, Alabama for the 2020 Reese’s Senior Bowl. Ohio State players always seem to show up at this event such as least year with receiver Terry McLaurin.
Jonah Jackson, the fifth year senior transfer from Rutgers, had an outstanding campaign for the Buckeyes. Starting every game of the season for Ohio State at right guard, Jackson helped stabilize a key position for the Scarlet and Gray on the offensive line.
An excellent run blocker, Jackson helped open up holes for JK Dobbins on his way to a 2,000 yard season on the ground. Jackson was voted a first team All Big Ten member and is projected to go anywhere from the third to sixth rounds of the 2020 NFL Draft.
However, his play in Mobile makes it seem likely that he wont get past the third round.
Jerod Brown of Bleacher Report had some high praise for Jackson this week via his twitter account:
"#OhioState OG Jonah Jackson has been a clear winner throughout the week, in my opinion. He’s showed strength to anchor, but also has good independent strike timing & punch awareness."
Another Buckeye who is killing it in Mobile is wide receiver KJ Hill. This comes to no surprise since Brian Hartline’s players have been very polished coming out of school and into the NFL.
His route running at the Senior Bowl practices have been excellent as he has been scorching defenders in one vs. one battles throughout the week.
Austin Gayle of Pro Football Focus had this to say from his twitter account:
"Ohio State’s K.J. Hill has been phenomenal in one-on-ones in both North practices. He’s moving up boards with his performance this week."
It comes as no surprise after watching these two players perform so well on Saturdays throughout the season. And most importantly, both of them played better the bigger the stage. These two Buckeyes are going to make two NFL franchises very happy come next fall.
