Two former Ohio State football players will play in the Super Bowl on opposing teams. And one Buckeye will be coming home.

Former Ohio State football players Nick Bosa and Darron Lee will both be playing for a Super Bowl ring, but on opposing teams. Now that the Tennessee Titans have been eliminated it has been reported Kerry Coombs will return to Columbus.

Good news all around for Buckeye fans. Let’s first look at the outstanding rookie for the San Francisco 49ers.

Defensive end Nick Bosa has proved he was worthy of being the No. 2 pick in last year’s NFL draft. He registered 47 tackles and 9 sacks for San Francisco during the regular season which earned him being named Defensive Rookie of the Year by the Pro Football Writers of America.

In two playoff games Bosa has recorded 10 tackles and 3 sacks.

The other former Ohio State football player didn’t have a season like Bosa but linebacker Darron Lee has contributed to the Kansas City Chiefs’ success. He has recorded 31 tackles on the season and now has a chance to wear a Super Bowl ring.

Now for the Buckeye coming home.

Kerry Coombs was the cornerbacks coach at Ohio State before moving on to the Tennessee Titans. He will now return to coach the defensive backs and become the co-defensive coordinator.

Coach Coombs is a big reason why Ohio State has become known as DBU. Nobody can spot top-tier talent and prepare those players for the NFL better than he can.

More on that terrific coach later, I’m just glad to have him back.

Well, now that the conference championship games have been played two things are certain. One former Ohio State football player will be wearing a Super Bowl ring soon. And the most energetic coach in America will back in Columbus.
