We at Scarlet and Game make our predictions for each Ohio State football game. Since a QB who once wore the Scarlet and Gray is leading the LSU offense we will predict how the Championship Game plays out.

Unfortunately the Ohio State football team isn’t playing for the National Championship, but a former player will be, so we at Scarlet and Game will make predictions for the game. It’s only right to do so since LSU QB Joe Burrow will always be a Buckeye after earning his degree from The Ohio State University.

Thomas Scurlock will get us started.

This College Football Championship game being played 37 days after the end of the regular season is ridiculous.

Much of the excitement is lost which is unfortunate because this game should be the pinnacle of the season.

Instead, the moment feels a little hollow like, oh yeah the championship game is being played. That being said, here is my prediction for the game.

Dabo Swinney said his team is healthy. I don’t buy it. The Buckeyes may have lost to Clemson, but they definitely beat up on the Tigers.

I question whether Clemson was able to fully prepare for this game.

The outcome comes down to execution. Unlike Ohio State, I doubt LSU will struggle in the redzone.

The Buckeyes failed to stick in the dagger when they had the chance.  LSU won’t make the same mistake.

Joe Burrow and the LSU offense has been able to score at will on every team except Auburn. LSU’s defense, criticized much of the season, found its identity against Georgia and Oklahoma.

It should contain Trevor Lawrence and Travis Etienne a little better than Ohio State’s defense did.

I expect a decent game, probably a one-score difference until the fourth quarter. LSU will take over late and with the help of God, bury Clemson and claim its first title since 2007.

LSU wins 41-27.
