Yesterday one of the best defensive players to ever play for the Ohio State football program announced he will declare for the 2020 NFL Draft.

Defensive end for the Ohio State football team Chase Young had one of the most successful and exciting seasons a Buckeye has ever had. Now, he is taking his unbelievable talents to the NFL.

This is some of what Young wrote in his announcement on Twitter on Friday.

"“Thank you to this great university and the entire state of Ohio for making me one of your own. I will never forget my time here and consider myself a Buckeye for life.I am excited for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. I look forward to joining a new family in the NFL this spring and being part of something special. Thank you all again and see you soon on Sundays. God bless and go Bucks!”"

Young was probably one of the most fun college defensive players I have ever had the opportunity to watch, especially this season. After 14 sacks through his first two seasons, Young had a record-breaking season this year with 16.5 sacks and seven forced fumbles.

It seemed like whenever a quarterback dropped back, Young was in the backfield to either sack him or hurry his throw. That was especially the case against Wisconsin and Penn State when he had two of the best games I have ever seen with four sacks against Wisconsin and three against PSU.

The dude was a literal animal on the field which led to him becoming the first ever Ohio State defensive player to be a Heisman Trophy Finalist.

The Buckeyes have had some incredible athletes to play on defense for them throughout the years. OSU fans have had the pleasure of watching guys like Chris Spielman, A.J. Hawk, Mike Vrabel, James Laurinaitis, Joey Bosa, Nick Bosa, and others – none of them were Heisman finalists and none of them brought as much excitement to the field as Chase Young did.

His play in the horseshoe has put him atop many big boards for this year’s NFL Draft. Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller has him ranked No. 1 out of his top 100 players while Walter Football and ESPN’s Mel Kiper also have him ranked as their No. 1 prospects.

This is what Kiper had to say about Young back in December.

"“The NFL loves twitchy edge rushers who can get after quarterbacks, though, and that’s Young. He caught my eye as a true freshman in 2017, and he really came on last season, picking up the production with Nick Bosa sidelined.”"

Young was the most dominant pass rusher in all of college football this year. He also was the best overall player in all of college football this year, and he was the most exciting player to watch in all of college football this year. Pretty soon he will be the best pass rusher in the NFL, the best overall player in the entire NFL, and the most exciting player to watch in the entire NFL.

Next. How to move on to the 2020 season. dark

Thank you, Chase Young. You have brought me more joy than any other defensive player in college football history. See you on Sundays.
