Even though it might have been the best regular season many fans have seen an Ohio State football team have, the Buckeyes ended their season with controversial calls and plenty of missed opportunities. Even with this bitter taste, there is still reason for optimism for Buckeye Nation.

The loss to Clemson still hurts, and it will probably will every time I think about it. However, it won’t help to spend the next eight months in pain until next season begins so how does Buckeye Nation move on?

Use this game as motivation.

Every Ohio State football player needs to remember what this feels like. Each one should remember the feeling they had when the clock hit 0:00 and use that as fuel all winter, spring and summer.

At the start of this season, the goal for most Buckeye fans was beat Michigan, win the Big Ten, and make the playoff.

With a first time head coach and starting quarterback, those seemed like lofty enough goals for this team. As we all know the Buckeyes blew expectations out of the water and dominated the Big Ten.

Now, the 2020 Ohio State team can set their sights higher – win the national championship. There are fewer question marks heading into this off-season than there were a year ago.

The Buckeyes have the opportunity to use this game throughout the entire preseason to focus on becoming the best team in the country and start a dynasty of their own.

These two situations will help in that quest.
