After setting the Ohio State single season rushing record which placed him second on the all-time list J.K. Dobbins has decided to enter the 2020 NFL Draft.

In a heartfelt tweet, Dobbins thanked everybody for his great experience during his time at Ohio State. Here is what he had to say to Urban Meyer and his running backs coach Tony Alford for giving him the opportunity to play for the Buckeyes.

"“I want to thank Coach Meyer and Coach Alford for coming all the way to a small town in Texas to give me the opportunity to play at the greatest university in the world”."

Dobbins was a 4-star prospect and the 2nd ranked all-purpose back coming out of La Grange, Texas. He made an immediate impact as a freshman and in his first opportunity on the road against Indiana he rushed for 181 yards on 29 carries.

He broke Maurice Clarett’s Ohio State record for rushing yards as a true freshman that season finishing with 1,403 yards and 7 touchdowns. He wrapped up his freshman year earning second-team All-Big Ten Honors.

Despite high expectations in 2018, the Buckeyes couldn’t get their run game going for Dobbins. He split carries with Mike Weber throughout the season but still rushed for 1,053 yards and 10 touchdowns. Dobbins was named second-team All-Big Ten finishing the year with over 1,000 rushing yards for the second time.

The running back from La Grange solidified his legendary status in Buckeye history after a Heisman-esque junior season. Dobbins was dominant all season long for the Buckeyes rushing for 2,003 yards and 21 touchdowns averaging 6.7 yards per carry.

In this year’s Big Ten Championship Game against Wisconsin, Dobbins rushed for 174 yards. He also became the first running back in Ohio State history to rush for 2,000 yards.

Dobbins certainly gave his very best when the Buckeyes needed him the most. In the final 4 game stretch of the season against No. 8 Penn State, No. 13 Michigan, No. 8 Wisconsin and No. 3 Clemson, Dobbins rushed for a combined 714 yards with 8 touchdowns.

In addition to surpassing Eddie George as the all-time school record holder for most single-season rushing yards, he finished 2nd behind Archie Griffin on Ohio State’s all-time rushing list. He was a first-team All-Big Ten selection, Doak Walker Award finalist and he finished 6th in the Heisman voting this year.

In Todd McShay’s latest Mock Draft, Dobbins is projected to be selected 31st overall to the San Francisco 49ers.

There have been legendary running backs in Ohio State history such as Archie Griffin, Hopalong Cassidy, Eddie George and Ezekiel Elliott. J.K. Dobbins will now be forever mentioned among those great Ohio State running backs as he enters the NFL Draft and leaves as a Buckeye legend. Buckeye Nation will surely miss the words of Fox’s Gus Johnson, “J.K ALL DAY”.
