There are only a few more college football games left this decade, and the Ohio State football team’s game with Clemson could be the best game of the 2010s.

Everything is on the line when the Ohio State football team takes on Clemson in the Fiesta Bowl on Saturday. The winner will earn a trip to the national championship. With how talented each team is though, this could be the game of the decade.

Many are comparing this game to the 2006 Rose Bowl between Texas and USC. You know, the classic game that resulted in a nail-biting finish where Texas won.

This is getting that comparison for good reason.

Both USC and Texas had the top two offenses in the country that season, each averaging around 50 points per game. Ohio State and Clemson had two of the top four offenses in the country this year.

Sports reference also puts together a simple rating system (SRS) that takes into account average point differential and strength of schedule. Of 130 teams, Ohio State has the No. 1 SRS in the country while Clemson has the No. 3 SRS.

In the 2006 Rose Bowl, Texas had the No. 1 SRS in the country and USC had the No. 2 SRS.

In addition to getting comparisons to one of the greatest college football games of all-time, this game is star-studded. Justin Fields and Trevor Lawrence were the two top quarterbacks in their recruiting class and have proven why they were so sought after by balling out in their careers so far.

Both teams also have two of the best running backs in the country in Clemson’s Travis Etienne and Ohio State’s J.K. Dobbins. Oh, and they have some of the best defensive players in the country, including the best overall player in the country in Ohio State defensive end Chase Young.

These are two great head coaches too in Ryan Day and Dabo Swinney. We are going to see two of the smartest football minds at work on Saturday.

You also can’t forget that each team has a chip on its shoulder as they both feel disrespected. Clemson thinks that’s since they are the undefeated reigning champs that they should be ranked higher than No. 3. Ohio State feels it should have been ranked No. 1 and the Buckeyes don’t like that everyone is picking Clemson to win this game.

Next. Coaching will decide winner of Fiesta Bowl. dark

All of these factors could equal a great, historic game on Saturday. A game that could be one of the best ones this decade. Get your popcorn ready.
