FanSided 250: Ohio State fans rank higher than Michigan fans

FanSided recently released its FanSided 250 list of the hottest fandoms, and fans of the Ohio State Buckeyes made the cut. Guess who they ranked above?

Fans of the Ohio State Buckeyes recently ranked as the 47th hottest fandom on the FanSided 250 list that was released on Tuesday, and they ranked as the third-hottest fandom of college sports teams. Only two fandoms of college programs ranked above them – fans of the Alabama Crimson Tide and fans of the Clemson Tigers.

Guess what that means? Yes, that means that fans of the Ohio State Buckeyes rank as the hotter fandom than fans of the Michigan Wolverines.

Not only is the Ohio State football team miles ahead of Michigan’s and just a much better program at this point in time, their fans are much better than theirs and do a much better job of supporting their school.

Michigan ranked No. 11 out of fandoms of college programs and No. 150 overall. Do you know who they rank behind on the overall list? John Cena fans, fans of the TV show The Good Place, fans of Robert Downey Jr., and even fans of Kim Kardashian West.

Fans of a Kardashian rank higher than fans of the Michigan Wolverines. That is pretty pathetic, but I guess when your team is a disappointment every single season, what can you expect?

Could you imagine rooting for a team that hasn’t won a national championship since 1997, hasn’t won a Big Ten Championship since 2004, and has lost eight straight games to their bitter rival The Ohio State University Buckeyes? At least Kim Kardashian fans have seen their girl win some People’s Choice and Teen Choice Awards recently.

I do think that Ohio State fans would still rank higher than Michigan fans currently do even if their team stunk. It just means more in Ohio.

Ohio State Buckeye fans have a lot to cheer about as the Buckeyes consistently win Big Ten Championships and contend for national championships, but now they have something else to cheer for – themselves. Buckeye fans are some of the hottest in the world and are head and shoulders above that fandom up north.
