As the college football regular season has come to an end, there are three Ohio State football stars who should have legitimate chances to win the Heisman.

With the regular season coming to an end it is time to look at who the favorites to win the Heisman Trophy are. For the Ohio State football team, there are three guys who should have a shot to win the award.

At the very least, quarterback Justin Fields, defensive end Chase Young and running back J.K. Dobbins should be invited to New York City for the Heisman ceremony on Dec. 14th.

LSU quarterback Joe Burrow may have the best odds to win the Heisman with only conference championship week left to play, but Dobbins has shined in the three of the toughest games of the year for the Buckeyes.

Against No. 13 Wisconsin, No. 8 Penn State and No. 13 Michigan, Dobbins rushed for over 100 yards in each of those three games, combining for 531 rushing yards and eight touchdowns. This includes a 211-yard, four-touchdown performance against Michigan on Saturday.

Young has solidified himself as the best player in college football. Arguably the future No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Buckeye DE asserted his dominance against both Wisconsin and Penn State, recording a combined 15 tackles, 7 sacks and four total forced fumbles.

Both Young and Dobbins have shots to win it but it might actually be between Fields and Burrow.

Despite the Heisman ceremony taking place a week after conference championship games, I have a better proposition for the Heisman trustees that would give college football fans an exciting yet rewarding finish to the Heisman Trophy presentation: Let Burrow and Fields duke it out for the Heisman Trophy in the 2020 College Football Playoff title game on Jan. 13th in New Orleans.

Assuming Ohio State stays at No. 1 and LSU stays at No. 2 in the College Football Playoff rankings, many would predict an Ohio State vs. LSU showdown for the National Championship. So let the two top Heisman contenders shine on college football’s biggest stage to take home the Heisman Trophy.

The Heisman favorite, Burrow’s senior night was a night to remember. Joe “Burreaux” showed his appreciation for the state of Louisiana by capping off his final game at Death Valley with 352 yards passing and three touchdowns. Burrow finishes the regular season with 4,366 passing yards, 44 touchdowns, 6 interceptions and a QBR of 93.4.

Fields had his defining Heisman moment after throwing a 30-yard strike for a touchdown against Michigan in his first play after returning from a knee injury. Fields went 14-of-25 for 302 yards and four touchdowns in a 56-27 win against TTUN.

In his first season for the Buckeyes, the sophomore sensation finished the regular season with 2,654 passing yards, 37 touchdowns, 1 interception and a QBR of 93.7. Fields also racked up 470 yards on the ground with 10 touchdowns. His combined 47 touchdowns to 1 interception this season is as impressive as it gets with the schedule that the Buckeyes played this year.

Next. The hidden greatness of Chase Young vs. Michigan. dark

The stakes are high: the CFP Trophy and the Heisman Trophy. Would Fields or Burrow come out on top? Maybe Young or Dobbins would even steal the show. Who do you think should win the Heisman?
