Every week this season I will make my predictions for Big Ten games. Of course we have to begin with ‘The’ Game’, Ohio State vs. Michigan.

Ohio State (-9) at Michigan

‘The Game’ has finally arrived.

Even though the Buckeyes have already won the East, the stakes are just as high.  Winning this game means everything.

Ryan Day is getting his first crack at beating the Wolverines as head man.  Jim Harbaugh is still searching for his first win.

You can ignore stats, record, history and just about any other metric that won’t have anything to do with the outcome.

This outcome of this game comes down to playing physical, fundamentally sound football.  Dominate the trenches, run the ball well, avoid turnovers and tackle at first contact.

Michigan believes it is ready to end the streak.  It is peaking, the game is in the Big House and it has a defense good enough to slow down Ohio State’s attack.

Ohio State is on a mission.  Win the Big Ten, beat Michigan, make the College Football Playoff and then win the championship.

I do think the Wolverines have to play a nearly flawless game to win and the Buckeyes have to just play well to win.

Games in the Big House are generally close so I don’t think it will be a blowout.  The Buckeyes will get a defensive stop and a late touchdown to seal the win.

Ohio State 31-23

The winner of this next game will face Ohio State for the Big Ten Championship.
