J.K. Dobbins has a monster game

Those who have watched Ohio State football games on Fox know Gus Johnson likes to say “J.K. all day”. Dobbins was “all day” last Saturday afternoon recording a career high 36 carries. He went for 157 yards and two scores as he slowly and methodically carved up Penn State’s fourth ranked rush defense.

By the late third quarter however, Dobbins was showing signs of being over-worked. He was not finishing his runs as strong as he was earlier in the game.

Master Teague was not involved much in the game, only carrying the ball twice. I’m not sure if Ryan Day just didn’t trust him in a big game or if he wanted Dobbins to receive all the carries. I hope Teague is a little more involved this week to help keep J.K. fresh.

With  that being said, I believe this is a day where Dobbins can go down as a Ohio State legend. Michigan’s rush defense is not as stout as Penn State’s was, statistically speaking. The Wolverine defense gives up an average of 105.9 yards per game on the ground.

We should see Dobbins get upwards of 20 carries in this game. I would also expect to see him bust a few long runs as well. My prediction: 26 carries for 185 yards and two touchdowns. Dobbins helps bleed the clock in the second half as he goes down with one of the best games for a running back in the rivalry’s history. Not quite the Carlos Hyde game of 2013, but still pretty darn good.
