Ohio State Football: Picking big spreads in Week 13
Fans have been waiting for the Ohio State vs. Penn State matchup for weeks as it will be a battle for the Big Ten East Championship.
Here we are in the next to last week of the regular season and the marquee matchup is Ohio State vs. Penn State. There is at least a 13.5 point spread in every game involving Top 10 teams this week.
Last week I was 5-5 with my picks and I am now 39-34 this season.
Here we go with Week 13 picks, point spreads provided by the Action Network.
LSU (1) by 42.5 over Arkansas: My first inclination is to always pick a team to cover against Arkansas but with LSU playing Texas A&M next week I think the starters will get plenty of rest. I’ll take the Razorbacks and the points.
Ohio State (2) by 19 over Penn State (8): I think this could be a slugfest early on but the lines on both sides of the ball for Ohio State will begin to wear Penn State’s down. I also think the Buckeyes have too much talent at the skill positions. I’ll take Ohio State to pull away and cover.
Georgia (3) by 13.5 over Texas A&M: I like the Bulldogs to prove they are deserving of their ranking. I’ll take Georgia and lay the points.
Alabama (5) by 58.5 over Western Carolina: Seriously? I think Alabama might win by 80 if starters played four quarters but they won’t. I’ll take Western Carolina and the points.
Oregon (6) by 13.5 over Arizona State: I’m high on the Ducks and they will be determined to put on a show for the CFP Committee. Oregon will win by at least two touchdowns.
Utah (7) by 23 over Arizona: I like Utah as well but not the spread. Arizona and the points here.
Oklahoma (9) by 18 over TCU: I’m not sure Oklahoma rolls to a big victory so I’ll take TCU and the points.
Minnesota (10) by 14 over Northwestern: I don’t like the spread here but Minnesota has a lot to play for. I’ll go with the Gophers and give the points.
