The Ohio State football team finally faced adversity today but managed to defeat the Penn State Nittany Lions to win the Big Ten East title.

Many wondered how the Ohio State football team would respond in a close four quarter game against a strong team. They got the answer today as the No. 2 ranked Buckeyes held off the No. 8 Nittany Lions to win 28-17.

It didn’t look like this would be a close game as Ohio State dominated the first half and led 14-0 heading into the break. If not for a fumble by Justin Fields at the goal line it would have been a three touchdown lead.

It seemed like more of the same in the second half as the Buckeyes scored first to go up 21-0 and seemed to have control of the game. Especially when Nittany Lion quarterback Sean Clifford left the game with an injury.

Enter backup Will Levis and the complexion of the game changed.

He led the Penn State offense to a score with running back Journey Brown taking it in from 18 yards out. Now it was game on and with Ohio State not being able to hold on to the football things got interesting.

J.K. Dobbins fumbled and the Nittany Lions scored on a one yard run by Levis. After a Fields’ fumble a field goal made it a four point game.

In the fourth quarter, Fields found Chris Olave in the endzone from 28 yards out for the final score of the game. The Silver Bullets put the hammer down on the Penn State offense after that.

There were fine performances by guys like J.K. Dobbins and Fields in the running game and of course Chase Young wrecked havoc in his first game back. I’ll get to those players later but here I just wanted to point out how the entire Ohio State football team battled adversity and brought home a win in the most important game of the year.

Next. The Heisman race is down to 2. dark

If anybody doubted whether or not the Buckeyes were a four quarter team before today they shouldn’t now. Ohio State battled one of the best teams in the country and pulled off an 11 point win. That should be enough proof.
