Blake:  Ohio State and Penn State are set for a showdown in The Shoe in front of the entire college football world. The Buckeyes look to continue their dominant play this season while Penn State needs a win to get back into the playoff hunt.

This game has a trip to Indianapolis on the line so the stakes couldn’t be higher yet again between these two schools. In years past this game has been razor-thin and a war, but I believe this year will be different.

Justin Fields and JK Dobbins lead a high-octane offense that ranks No. 1 in the country averaging 51.5 points per game. Ohio State has been able to enjoy great success through the air and on the ground. Despite the weather, the Buckeyes should see more of the same on Saturday.

Penn State has been out gained by five KD their opponents this season and that cannot happen if they wish to pull the upset. The Nittany Lions will look to run the football effectively to try to set the tone, but a rested Chase Young and ferocious front seven will stand in the way.

Forcing Sean Clifford to throw more than he’s comfortable with could be a huge advantage for the Buckeyes. Penn State hasn’t had as much success through the air as they have on the ground and the Silver Bullets wills continue that trend.

Ohio State hasn’t allowed an opponent to gain 300 yards all season and that won’t change either. This game is being built up to be larger than life, but the real showdown will come next week in Ann Arbor. The Buckeyes clinch the Big Ten East relatively comfortably.
