Week 13 of the college football season is upon us. After 12 weeks, the Heisman race is down to quarterbacks of the 2 best teams in college football.

Let’s take a look at the Heisman race:

No. 2 Justin Fields – Ohio State QB

Justin Fields has played in the shadows of the likes of Tua Tagovailoa, Jalen Hurts and Jonathan Taylor all season long. But, the Buckeyes star quarterback has the best chance of catching Joe Burrow to claim the Heisman Trophy.

In a 56-21 win against Rutgers last week, Fields passed for a career high 305 passing yards with 4 touchdowns. Fields TD-INT ratio is 31-1. Combining his rushing touchdowns, his TD-INT ratio is 41-1.

Despite not having played full games throughout the season, Fields has the Buckeyes offense as the #1 scoring offense in the nation, averaging 51.5 points per game. The #2 ranked Buckeyes face off against #8 Penn State this Saturday in Columbus. Fields can derail Burrow for the Heisman frontrunner with his performance against the Nittany Lions.

Look for the QB to have at least 300 total yards of offense with 4 touchdowns on Saturday.

No. 1 Joe Burrow – LSU QB

Joe Burrow put up Heisman numbers yet again in a 58-37 win over Ole Miss last Saturday tossing for 5 touchdowns and a career high 489 yards. The Tigers’ remaining regular season schedule doesn’t offer Burrow a national stage to showcase his talents like Fields’ does.

However, the Heisman will be tough for Fields to take away from Burrow. The Tigers QB has 3,687 passing yards this season with 38 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. His QBR ranks 3rd best in the nation.

Disclaimer to all Heisman voters:

After a 2-game suspension, Ohio State DE Chase Young will be hungrier than ever to assert his dominance against the Penn State offensive line in efforts to prove that he’s a worthy candidate of the Heisman Trophy. Look for Chase Young to have a monster day on Saturday.
