Ohio State Football: Clifford, Patterson should be scared of Young
By David Wysong
Chase Young will return for the Ohio State football team against Penn State as the NCAA announced he will sit out one more game due to a violation.
The Ohio State football team’s defensive end Chase Young will return to the field for the Buckeyes on Nov. 23 against Penn State University. This comes after he was suspended two games due to an NCAA violation.
This is bad news for Penn State quarterback Sean Clifford and Michigan quarterback Shea Patterson, who the Buckeyes play the week after PSU.
Young has become a professional sack artist this season as he has 13.5 sacks through eight games. Oh, and when he is not sacking the quarterback he is rushing their throws as he always seems to be in the backfield.
The games against Penn State and Michigan will be the biggest games of the year for Ohio State as they could be the best teams the Buckeyes face all year. They come at a critical time too. Buckeye fans hope they can win those two games to clinch a spot in the Big Ten Championship Game and then a spot in the College Football Playoff.
Throughout the past two years, Young has come up big in big games.
Last season against Penn State, Young had two sacks and six total tackles, three for loss. Then against Northwestern in the Big Ten Championship Game Young had three sacks, and against Washington in the Rose Bowl he had one.
Then this year against Cincinnati, who is currently ranked No. 17 in the College Football Playoff rankings, Young had 1.5 sacks. Then against Wisconsin, who is currently ranked No. 14, Young had the biggest game of his career with four sacks.
I think that means it is almost certain he will come up big in two of the biggest games of the season, especially because he will be well-rested with not having to play against Maryland and Rutgers.
While Penn State has only allowed 16 sacks all year and Michigan has only allowed 14, neither of them have faced a player like Young. We are talking about the best player in college football. There is no one who can block him. Look out Clifford and Patterson – Chase Young is coming.
