Former Ohio State football QB Joe Burrow dominated Alabama’s defense on Saturday as LSU got a big win over Bama. Nick Saban has seen that before.

LSU got a big 46-41 win over Alabama on Saturday and it was in large part due to former Ohio State football quarterback Joe Burrow.

Burrow, who is now the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy, put on a show, going 31-of-39 through the air for 393 yards and three touchdowns. The Tide had no answers for him.

The crazy thing about Burrow is that just a couple of years ago in 2017 Burrow was Ohio State’s third-string quarterback behind J.T. Barrett and Dwayne Haskins.

So, essentially, Alabama got burnt by a third-string Ohio State quarterback on Saturday.

Where have I heard that story before?

Oh, yes this happened back during the 2014-15 season when the Buckeyes took on the Tide in the College Football Playoff. You know, when Ohio State won 42-35 to advance to the national championship where they went on to defeat Oregon?

In that game, Ohio State was down to its third-string quarterback as Braxton Miller got hurt in the preseason and Barrett got hurt against Michigan. So, Ohio State’s season relied all upon third-stringer Cardale Jones.

No, Jones did not put up Burrow numbers but he still threw for 242 yards and a touchdown, helping the Buckeyes get the W over the Tide who many people picked to win the game.

So, while Alabama has pretty much been the team to beat the past decade I think we have found their kryptonite – Ohio State third-string quarterbacks.

Oh, and if the Tide somehow still make the College Football Playoff after Saturday’s loss they could have a chance to lose to one again if they have to face LSU yet again. Or, they could face the Buckeyes and just lose to a first-string OSU quarterback in Justin Fields.

Next. Buckeyes still have strong case to remain No. 1. dark

Either way, I don’t think Bama head coach Nick Saban wants to see another quarterback that has any ties to the Ohio State Buckeyes for quite some time.
